Dr. Robert Fettgather — Mission College Psychology Professor

Dr. Robert Fettgather holds a PhD in psychology, master’s degrees in psychology and special education, and a bachelor of arts in psychology. Since 1983, he has served as an associate faculty member with Mission College, where his course offerings have included developmental and abnormal psychology, and general psychology. Dr. Fettgather previously volunteered with the Coalition for Elder and Disability Rights, supporting the organization’s efforts to promote human rights for seniors and adults with disabilities.

In addition to his teaching career, Dr. Fettgather has authored many works on topics related to disability rights and elder mistreatment. The keynote speaker at the Santa Clara County Speech-Language-Hearing Association Luncheon and Meeting, he has also presented at the Sacramento Autistic Spectrum and Special Needs Alliance.

Reflecting his career in special education, Dr. Fettgather spent several decades as a teacher at Agnews Developmental Center, through a developmental center based community college program. When he is not working, he enjoys hiking and weight training, as well as house boating on the Sacramento River.
